After two days of direct action at the White House, Department of Justice and Department of Health and Human services, ADAPT members spent the third day at the House and Senate buildings lobbying for the Disability Integration Act. ADAPT is seeking initial sponsor for the DIA at the House and seeking additional co-sponsors at the Senate.
Senator Schumer spoke at a rally organized in the Hart Senate building to the ADAPT members. The activists thanked him for introducing the bill and championing the cause of community living for people with disabilities.
